If you'd told players ten years ago that a game not even out of beta-testing could command a following substantial enough to warrant a full-sized convention in Las Vegas, they'd have laughed as hard as you did at Bill Gates' new console. But here we are in 2011, and Minecraft – whose first build released in 2009 and which has been in paid Beta since late last year – is almost ready to launch for reals. And this is a big deal for enough people that they're all getting together in Vegas to be there when it happens...
